Three day trip to Chiang Rai - Doi Mae Salong

From Tha Ton take route 1089 to Doi Mae Salong. In the town of Mae Salong their is a nice Chinese Restaurant on the side of the hill. There are many shops selling dried tea, as it is grown on the mountain sides of Doi Mae Salong.

There is a nice temple on the top of the hill. This temple has no name that I can see, but it is visible from the town.

After Mae Salong, head for Ban Theod Thai. This is a nice small village with some unusual temples. If you continue through Ban Theod Thai up the hill, you will encounter Military check points, that will stop you continuing to Myanmar.

In Ban Theod Thai there is a T Junction. If you are feeling adventurous, take this road into the mountains for more beautiful scenery.
