Bangkok - Thailand's Capital City

On arrival to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport whether by International or Domestic flight head for the first floor to the Taxi stand.  Don’t bother with the various offers of Airport Limousines etc.

If you have just arrived on an international flight, go to an exchange booth and get yourself a 1000 baht or so in change.  You will need some small change, e.g. 20 Baht’s and some 10 Baht’s for the Toll Road.

When you arrive at the 1st floor, exit the doors and go to the desk and tell them where you are going.  They will give you a ticket and find a driver for you who is willing to go to your destination.

It takes approximately 50 minutes to get into the centre of Bangkok.  The airport is quite far away from the centre.  The Sky Train line is far from being finished.

My taxi fare was 360 baht plus 3 toll fares of around 60 baht.  The passenger's have to pay the tolls, they are not included in the fare.
