There is enough to see in Yangon to keep you going for a couple of days, but you have to venture outside if you are staying longer. 

However you must visit the Shwedagon Paya ($5 USD per visit), Sule Pagoda, walk around Pasanda Road to see all of the British Colonial era buildings and visit the markets held every evening on Mahabondoola Road.
