Flying Mandalay to Heho

I booked the early flight (the only flight I think) to Heho 8.15 am. Leave yourself a good 1 hours travelling time to the Airport, this allows for any breakdowns.  Air Mandalay advise to check in at 6.45am but the desks are not open until 7.15am.  The flight takes approximately 30 mins.

Heho airport looks and is quite old and basic.  Your bags are taken from the plane and left on the floor in the ‘arrivals’ area.

There are no taxis allowed in front of the airport, you have to walk approximately 30 metres out from the airport.  It’s probably better to arrange a pick up from your hotel ($15 USD) if you are staying in Nyaung Shwe (town beside Inle Lake), as it takes approximately one hour to drive there.  You will be charged $3 USD every time you enter the Nyaung Shwe 'Zone'.
