Tonle Sap Lake - Siem Reap

Tonle Sap lake is very beautiful, it's best visited in the early morning or late afternoon if you are into photography as the light is far too harsh at midday.

A 90 mintue boat ride will cost you $10 dollars each. Please ask your boat driver to drive more slowly, and not like the Korean and Chinese idiots who like to go fast which has in the past, apparently resulted in the drowning of local fishermen after their boats have capsized!

The fast boats to Battambang and Phnom Pehn leave from Tonle Sap, these boats allegedly don't meet international safety standards and are best avoided, take the bus. Travel agents will probably tell you that the bridges etc are broken just to sell you a boat ticket.
